Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

Eh,I did that myself once when they forgot to send the doctor's prescription to the delivery company. A few changes are ongoing in our clinic. I was there last thursday, changes to the way bloods will be done or something, among others. I didn't have time to digest it all, but will read more about i...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

Hi Sanela I just used to email the renal pharmacist and they organised it all - it worked really well as i did it as and when, and didn't need to order to coincide with clinics ...that way I would order when i had around 3 - 4 weeks supply, not worrying about whether I would run out before the next ...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

... Medinet or something). How did you get your prescriptions? Through pharmacy? I always thought that was for emergencies only. I was prescribed adoport a couple of months back and was going to start taking when prograf runs out. This was going to be a thursday, one week before my clinic visit. ...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

I have been on Adoport for around 8 weeks so now, after the last blood test they have told me to increase from 3/2 to 3/3 which I was a bit put out about as my prograf dose has been stable for well over 3 years. They said that generally ...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

The switch from Prograf to Adoport has been going on at my unit too for a few months now, at the WLRTC. Prograf’s licence has expired so of course, the NHS is trying to save money. For a while I thought that I would have to switch too ...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

So your hospital arranges your meds? Blimey. My GP does mine, the Hosp. just decides what they should be. I wonder if that makes it less likely that we'll switch, as it's a different PCT paying the drug bill?!

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

The way I read the letter, this was going to be a permenant thing. [quote][In future you will be asked each time you attend transplant clinic how much medication you reqire until your next clinic appointment. Forms will be available in transplant clinic to help you write this down. Your home deliver...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

Got my letter today from Southmead. Not sure about the counting of what drug supply I have before each appointment though, surely the hospital can work that out when they send the precriptions to be made up? Will be keeping a close eye on my results though, especially as I was told post transplant t...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

Of course! I've been in a pub several times recently, still suffering the taste of high urea, and not really fancying a beer. Usual alternative is cider - but even the good local rough stuff isn't going down well at the moment. What I should have been going for is the black stuff, as I'm needing rei...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

... name of the drug, so anyone who makes it has to call it this. So with Tacrolimus - this is the generic name of the drug. Prograf is one brand. Adoport is another. They're both Tacrolimus. Same with Stella Artois and Heineken. They're the brand names - the generic name for what they make is ...

Re: Adoport (generic tacro)

Got the letter this morning, looking at the list my prednisolone and MMF are being changed, but the weird thing is the booklet says that the MMF brand name is Cellcept and the generic version is called Mycophenolate Mofetil. But my box has both names on it. Don't know what going on there. lol Also b...
