Re: Muscle pain/joint pain

... GP says speak to your renal team! Personally I think it’s all too much of a coincidence not to be related to transplant and meds, he is on MMF and Adoport? He was also put on iron tablets a couple of weeks ago. I will be very appreciative of any replies. Thank you

Re: Switching to generic tacro....

Adoport is not a generic. It is another branded tacrolimus, just made by a different company. Your transplant nurses are correct tacrolimus should not be prescribed generically as you could be given different brands with their ...

Switching to generic tacro....

My unit have just told me that they will be switching everyone from Prograf to the generic tacro Adoport. Whilst I am happy to take (and have!) any generic paracetamol, antibiotics etc I was told by the transplant nurse when first transplanted that Prograf was the best ...

Hair loss advice

Hi all Just wondering if any one out there has any advice regarding hair loss. I'm now one year post transplant and still on quite a high dose of Adoport 8mg twice a day, my hairs getting quite threadbare, just wondering if any of you out there have experienced the same and could recommend anything. ...

Re: Dialysis, when did you start..

... 2 1/2 years ago and I’ve never looked back. I’m back to living life as normal. I feel “normal” what ever that is. My anti rejection drugs (Adoport and prednisone) don’t cause me any problems. I am aware I am slightly more prone to infections but it’s not a huge problem. I’m sensible. I ...

Re: Extended release Prograf [and Envarsus/Adoport]

Hi - thanks for replies and help. I decided not to change. Kidney doing well so I just felt as Rik said 'why rock the boat'. They have reduced my cellcept from 2000 a day to 1500 so I'm happy with that.

Re: Extended release Advagraf [and Envarsus/Adoport]

Envarsus is clearly a generic version of Tacrolimus. I haven't come across it yet. There's another that's commonly used now in the UK, which is Adoport . This ( has been discussed here a bit before ). I was changed to Adoport on the day of my second transplant in 2012. For the next few days, my ...

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

To go back a couple of subjects - I have spoken to a specialist pharmacist about Adoport and whether you can take it out of its foil and put it in boxes. Apparently not. It is too unstable to be out of its wrapper for a few days before being swallowed. It should ...

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

I do mine once a week, doesn't seem to have done any harm. The Adoport seems to cope fine - I do get rid of any that have got wet though.

Re: The Team Tibbs Results are in...

Talking about tacrolimus doses and seeing the photos of pill boxes reminded me of a question I haven't been able to get an answer to. I take Adoport. On the patient information it says to take out of the Packaging just before taking. (I guess this is because of a worry about water absorption ...
