Re: EBV Virus
Hi, I have had very low level EBV since November 2011. I still have it now. Due to an early almost rejection episode, the nephs are unwilling to lower my meds to such an amount to allow my body to overcome the virus. They just monitor it when I go for clinic and don't seem that bothered about it. Ob...

Re: Epstein Barr Virus
I've had EBV since around 5 months post transplant - I'm now nearly 5 years down the line - and it has never gone away. I have my EBV level checked every 3 months with the usual gubbins of blood and urine tests. Mine has bounced around but as long as it is at a low level they don't seem too bothered...

Re: 8 months post transplant hair badly thinning
Yep.
I am now nearly 5 years post transplant but my hair has been thinning for the entire time really. Such a shame when I had such luscious, thick locks
Currently on 3.5mg Advagraf and 5mg Pred.
Although many people report it to stop, my just continues to rumble on

Re: Peritoneal dialysis
Hi Suggzy, I had it under local and it wasn't painful, maybe uncomfortable is the right word - especially when they are pushing it in! :D The only issue with mine was the doc put it in wrong so I had to go under general to have it corrected and fitted properly! Good luck with it, you shall be fine! ...

Re: Creeping Creatinine
Hi folks Just to update, that my tac level was sky high and as the dose of tac has been reduced, my creatinine has come down too. Glad I read this: I've been camel-like all week. I'll take a 2l bottle of water to work tomorrow and I bloody well will drink it somehow. If you hear about chaos in a cl...

Re: Creeping Creatinine
Some really interesting comments cropping up. I was very vigilant about drinking 3.5l of water a day, mainly because a transplant nurse at the QE in Birmingham scared the s*** outta me claiming it should be closer to 5l! But recently, especially this year, I have found myself not drinking 2l a day, ...

Re: Creeping Creatinine
Hi Thelma, I have experienced something similar and it is by no means the end of the world. I had a minor rejection episode a year after transplant, had a couple of biopsies - no major signs of rejection. A virus did turn up though, EBV. Since then it has been a balancing act of medications and the ...
