i would recommend both Royal london where hubby had his dialysis APD training and subsequent transplant and also Guys where he had some surgery last year when barts and the london coukldny help any further. both renal units are excellent in my opinion and indeed will always be grateful to Mr Oldsbur...

as a nurse myself for both these tests i would advise patients to fast from 10pm the night before with only water and any nedication being taken till blood test done

hi there sorry to hear the trouble you have with moving centres. where in essex are you moving to?? we live in essex near basidlon which has a haemo unit and also southend. there is a unit at romford as well. my hubby did peritoneal at home so we only had to go to royal london for outpatient appts.h...

i think you may mean type 1 and type 2 diabetes. type one usually occurs in childrem and young adults and it is where the pancreas just shuts down and doesnt produce any insulin and this is always treated with insulin. type two is found in generally adults and older people but is being found in chil...

hubby used guys for about 7 months as at the royal london they couldnt help him anymore. we had no problems at all with guys and staff on richard birght ward were second to none. the consultant mr olsburgh was superb!!! renal clinic appeared a bit disorganised not like the royal london. at guys you ...

thats interesting mandy.as we were only in clinic at begining of december and asked dr ashman then and thats what he told us that it probably wont happen at all due to the current economic climate and government cuts etc. they do need it as they are supposed to be one if not the largest reanl centre...

i wish hubbys unit had renal patient view.he has just spent 7 months at guys which used it and it was fantastice. now he has been transferred back to his original unit at the royal london and they dont use it. we asked his neph last visit why they dont use it and was told " we should use it but...

we actually did ask dr ashman before christmas why they dont do renal patient view and he said they should do but basically it was down to the budget. i have always thought that the clinic location was odd and once in the dept there are even a few steps down to the consulting rooms.hopefully as you ...
