Be careful. Very careful!! Good luck with this, sounds like the kind of nightmare my family and I spend all our time avoiding - I've been on immuno-supressant's since I was 7 (18.5 years!) so you get used to it. As a rule, we tend to work on the 'keep Vikki away from germs' theory. If any family mem...

I used to be allowed even with the heart-lungs tx, but my renal nurses are ULTRA strict and don't allow anything. Everything we take has to be filtered by the kidney(s) so we;re not allowed stuff apart from paracetamol that the liver deals with. At least, that';s the VERY hard line I was given. And ...

Tut tut Jen! Look, it happens to all of us, even super-cool people like me who have been taking them for 18 years. If you're worried, just phone your renal nurses, they can advise about whether they want your bloods checked. I have a strict routine for them, which helps the old memory and I have my ...

Steve I cannot say how amazing I think it is that you have written to us all on KPG. Your words were very strong and made me cry again, but you are right, we must always remember her and her wonderful spirit. I feel that, if you agree, we should hold a memorial party for her in the New Year. And I s...

I just had the same text from Steve. It's awful, my thoughts are with you Steve. I remember Rachel as someone I just 'clicked' with when we met at the party in London that time, she was a fantastic, inspirational person and I will never forget her. I can't find the photos of that London party in 200...

Steve and Rachel There aren't any words for this are there? There's nothing I can say that can do justice to my sorrow and anger for you both. Rik wrote the most coherently. I send you all my love and blessings. You have both been the strongest, most wonderful supports to me and made me feel that if...

I am so angry in general about this TV show that I am seeing red! I want to hit something. But then I'm not the best at being rational about issues close to my heart - just in case you hadn't noticed! I feel that it trivialises the entire issue, making it a 'game show' that is watched for entertainm...

Hi
As far as I'm aware it's when you reach 10% function, sometimes less. I was at 7% function when I started (am now nearly 14 months post-tx)
Hope that helps

Thank you all SO much! I had a fantastic time and went up the Eiffel Tower with my best friends to celebrate! I did cry a bit too; it's been a very emotional few years. Spent 5 days in Paris and got back today -my actual kidniversary- as I have to be back at work tomorrow! Pretty tired but had a fan...
