Laser eye surgery post tx

I'm due to have laser eye surgery next Friday. I am 6 years post tx and wondered if anyone else has had this done following a transplant. I'm sure it's not such a problem with the actually transplant but more to do with the medication you take. I'm on tacrolimus, losartan, asprin, azathiropine, amlo...

Squamous Epithelium???

First off has anyone heard of this?? I'm 6 years post tx and take tacrolimus - all has been going well. About 6 months ago I developed a lesion on my right cheek. I had it checked out by a dermatologist and he advised that it was nothing to worry about and can be easily removed. It was removed and w...

No medication post transplant, anyone?

Hey guys, Just interested to know how many people on here do not have to take any medication post transplant. I presume this will apply to some of the more mature users on here who had a succesful tx many years ago. Be fascinating to know if anyone has reached this stage in the past decade.... Thanks.

Stem Cell Research...

I'm sure everyone here has come across what the future could potentially hold for us people suffering with some form of kidney disease, but I wondered what people thought about it? and if it was just a lot of hype about nothing. I am so for this and I think the reseasrch being done is ground breakin...

Working abroad

Afternoon, Would really like some advice, preferably first hand if anyone has relocated ('im looking at Hong Kong) with work and what to do with medications. I'm 3.5 years post tx but still have to take a fair amount of meds and sure others will agree. I think I have a couple of options: a) Get some...

Single Trip Travel Insurance

Hi guys, hope everyone doing ok. I'm coming up 3 years post transplant - all is going well and have had no problems. I'm going to Aruba on the 16th and need to get a travel insurance policy in place. Can anyone recommend a decent market to go with? I'm in the UK and aged 24. All answers welcome. Raz.

Well my advice is to listen to your docs but also if you can stay off having to have the PD tube for as long as possible - then go for it!

Only from my experience anyway.......!

Good luck whatever happens!

Julie, I'm going to have to disagree with you. From my experience and also that of my consultant, there is no danger in drinknig the items that you listed. When drinking alcohol with our kind of disease, you need to be aware that everyone is different and especially react different to alchohol. At t...
