Re: Witholding antibiotics
I thought I would pop back on here and update you that sadly my father away peacefully at Christmas. It didn't prove to be his kidneys in the end , but cause of death given as frailty, old age, and history of stroke/dementia. I'm not looking for sympathy or condolences but I know when I was his care...

Re: Spam/Scam message questionnaire
Not had anything from this site either. I think I did get a strange email ages ago about kidneys but I thought it was teh result of googling a different web site and ending up "chatting" on line to a chinese dr!. I wonder if other people who have had problems have been googling kidneys and...

Thanks Wagonlynn
I guess it's a case of wait and see. So many other things in the mix besides failing kidneys.

Re: Decline in eating and drinking
Just got dad back from hospital and GFR is 23 so still stage 4 . I'm fuming with the hospital as papers say reason for admission is "general decline and unmet care needs" The fact that neither myself (the only person he will listen to) or carers could persuade him to eat or drink properly ...

Re: How close is the end?
Well have spoken to a couple of Drs this week, the first was very encouraging and said that GFR was 19 on admission ( I was told renal failure at the time) but had gone back up to GFR 29 . Tonight I have been in and it has droped right down again- enough to have him back on a drip this evening for f...

Re: How close is the end?
Hi Wagonlynn
Thank you for your honest information. I will ask for GFR if I ever get to see a DR in the hospital.
